    "Among the great-great-great-grandfathers of Mrs. Alice Freeman Thompson Parke ... was Richard Coles of Preston Capes, Northamptonshire, d. 1528, father by ?? of Anne Coles, wife of Richard Pargiter. Their son, Robert Pargiter (d. 1558), was the father by Anne Knight of Anne Pargiter, wife of Lawrence Washington of Sulgrave (d. 1583/4) and mother of Robert Washington (d. 1620/21), George Washington ancestor #64. See George Baker, The History and Antiquities of the County of Northampton, 2 vols. (1822?41), 1:433 (Coles), 509 (Pargiter), 513?14 (Washington) and H.J.
