Richard J. Benner, 85, Danville, died Jan. 16, 2003. He worked 38 years in trucking and transportation industry, retiring in 1981. He was an Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Benner was a member of Northview Christian Church, Danville, Council Oak Masonic Lodge 746, Murat Shrine, Scottish Rite and Brownsburg Order of the Eastern Star.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services with Howard Aughinbaugh officiating will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 21 in Conkle Funeral Home, Hendricks County Chapel in Avon, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 20. Burial: West Ridge Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam Heise Benner; daughters Jonnie J. Wallis of Danville, Diana S. Priest of Brownsburg, and Judy K. Alley of Peru; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. (Indy Star)
