Reuben appeared in the 1830 US Census in Carrol Co. TN In the 1840 US Census in Carroll Co AR In the 1850 US Census in Williamson Co, TX

While they were living in Carroll County Tennessee, Reuben Queen was a juror in County court in 1823. It was held in Huntsville. On the next day the grand jury returned into court an indictment against Reuben Queen for assault and battery. He acknowledged himself to be indebted to the State of Tennessee in the sum of-$250 together with William Cox his Security in the sum of $150 to be levied of their goods and chattels lands, and tenements for the use of the State. Conditioned that Reuben made his personal appearance at the next term of court to answer an indictment preferred against him and not depart therefrom without leave of court. During the March term Wednesday 10, 1824, Reuben pleaded guilty, but he "cannot further gainsay the State charge against him. ..The court ordered the defendant (Reuben) make his peace with the State by paying a $1 fine for his offence and that, "She recover ofhim her cost by her, about her suit in chis behalf expended and remain in custody of the sheriff until the fine and cost aforesaid be given then and there upon court and acknowledged himself the defendants Security for the said fine and cost. Reuben was Security for William Cormack. "

Reuben Queen and wife Mary Butler moved with Neely Butler to Arkansas as did several other families. Turner Hale married Sarah Butler, daughter of Reuben about 1837. Susan Butler Morris followed westward in 1853 and purchased of William and Susan Morris their property on the Kings River in Barry County Missouri. Cynthia Hale was the first person buried in the Hale Cemetery at Oak Grove, Arkansas, in 1861.

Reuben received a land grant in Lampasas Co, TX. sometime between the 1840 census and the 1850 census. He was granted section 38 Abstract 569.
