Oscar Burton Robbins book, pg 258: "Reuben Ettinger was married at Amity, Ohio, in the Inn of his father-in-law. Probably two children born there. Removed to Orange, Indiana, near St. Joe, 25 miles southeast of Waterloo; then to Huntington, Indiana. Worked at Cabinet trade, then in a year removed to Auburn, Indiana, where with his brother Joseph, started one of the first cabinet shops. Made caskets when they could get $16.00 per 1000 for finest walnut and cherry lumber when hauled to Fort Wayne, 26 miles. "From Auburn removed to Waterloo, where they built planing mill and cabinet shop. At the time of the Civil War they had eight apprentices (4 years) released them all who went to War. Then moved to Angola, Indiana." References
