On p. 846 (Beaubassin) he is "doubtless" the son of André [sic] of Port Royal [But André is listed as serving Charles de LATOUR at Jemseg, on the river St. Jean (today New Brunswick). After the capture of the fort by D'Aulnay in 1645 André would have returned to France, coming back to Acadia after the rehabilitation of Charles de LATOUR.] René married around 1689 to Madeleine DOUCET, daughter of Pierre & Henriette PELLETRET; seven children.
