J.C. Turner remembers that the "Old Spight's Homeplace" wa s near Hemphill in Sabine County. J.C. remembers going t o school with some of the Spights children at Hemphill. Tem pe left Hemphill with Becky after the civil war and went t o Corrigan. J.C. thinks the other Spights children died i n an epidemic an d are buried near Hemphill. Becky died of "old age" while J.C. was living in C aliforni a between 1932 and 1934.
