    Children of John Knowles and Apphia Bangs: 3) Rebecca, b. 2 Mar 1674/5, d. Yarmouth 4 Mar 1758, "probably" m. Thomas Tobey who 1757 will names a wife Rebecca.
    [The death date is dependent on the marriage, since gravestone is for a Rebecca Tobey, so would only be probable as well. Regarding the "probably", Libby says "The identification of Rebecca Knowles, b. 2 Mar 1674/5, with Rebecca Tobey, wife of Thomas, is based soley on the fact that two of Rebecca Tobey's children had sons named Knowles." He calls attention to the discrepancy in the age at death, and says that statements that Thomas Tobey m. (1) a daughter of George Crowell, and one published in Boston Evening Transcript 5 Feb 1912 that Rebecca Knowles m. Yarmouth 18 Nov 1709 Thomas Tobey are not unsupported by known evidence.]
