- Will of Rebecah Skaggs, Written 13 October 1860.
- Will of Rebecah Skaggs, deceased In the name of God, I, Rebecah Skaggs, being sorely afflicted in body, and expecting to die, but of sound mind and disposing memory, would this day make a disposition of my effects as follows.
- First, my soul to God.
- 2nd, I desire that all of my just debts be paid.
- Item 3rd, I desire that all of my personal effects to be sold by my administrator, and applied to the payment of my debts. Also a debt that John has given his obligation to B. Shaw for twelve dollars and 10 cents.
- Item 4th, I desire that Jordan and John and Elizabeth and Francis, my heirs, each of them have a bed and furniture similar to the beds and furniture the rest have received with Elizabeth and Morgan; to have each a bedsted and Frances also.
- Item 5th, I desire that Jordan and John, my sons each to have a cow; and Jordan to have a mule named Peter, 8 months old; and John to have a mule named Jack, a year old.
- Item 6th, I desire that all of the grain crop raised this year by Jordan to be equally divided between Jordan and John.
- Item 7th, I desire that my land, one hundred and sixty acres, more or less, be equally divided between William C. Skaggs, Wade F. Skaggs, Thomas H. Skaggs, Mamauer Stark, S.C. Skaggs, Jordan O. Skaggs, John H. Skaggs, Elizabeth R. Skaggs; each one to have an equal portion of the said land, and that S.C.Skaggs, that have been living on said landfor a number of years is not to pay any rent up to the division of said lands. Item 8th, I desire that S.C. Skaggs, my son, be my administrator and that he sell all of my personal property, and after paying off all of my debts and expenses of administration; and fifteen dollars to James M. Stark, then all that may be left in said administrators hands to be equally divided between Elizabeth R. Skaggs and Lucinda Skaggs.
- Given under my hand and seal this 13th of October 1860.
