[UL:The Record of the Chivvis Family:UL] p.6 "She was pleasant and attractive, had a remarkable memory, and was a good conversationalist speaking with good common sense. She had many friends who held her in great esteem as long as she lived. She had passed through many difficulties in her life and the iron had entered her soul more than onceʾ yet you never heard her complain or tell her difficulties to who called in but would enter into conversation quite different to her present troubles. She was kind and good to all. I never heard of her doing an unkind act or deed in my life. She was retiring in ways and manners, always in the home at work for the family and busying herself with household duties that were arduous, no doubt, most of her life. She lived to be very aged, and was blessed with children that were kind and generous, not only toward her, but toward each other. No pains were spared to make their motherʾs surroundings both comfortable and pleasant. She passed away in great peace."
