In 1716 Samuel Carriel and his brother Daniel set out for Sutton, Mass. In 1719 Samuel Carriel return to his old home for a companion and on Sept. 14 at Boxford, Mass. was married to Rebecca Elliott. First child Rebecca "must have been born c. 1720, though the record of her birth ... I did not find", d. "8-4-1805", m. 14 Jan 1742 Benjamin Marsh Jr. as his second wife.
[Note: the birth estimate of 1720 given here is adjusted to 1722, which is still compatible with Rebecca's marriage in 1742, to allow room for an older brother Samuel, who probably was born before 1721 in order to be of legal age when he marriage in 1742. Given the parents' marriage in 1719, it seems likely Samuel was born about 1720 and Rebecca about 1722, based on typical spacing seen in colonial times.]
