[Smoke Ferree CD - November 2004]
Biography: Rebecca was a Quaker by birth and attended the Dunnings Creek Meeting. for worship after its establishment in 1797, but was still under the care of Menallen Meeting.
At Menallen Meeting, August 22, 1797: "The women complain of Rebecca Griffith, late Blackburn, for marriage by a hireling teacher to her first cousin, not a member."
Rebecca was later reported "...tender, but not in a suitable disposition to condemn her misconduct."
She was disowned November 20, 1797.
Her tombstone says she died in the 52nd year of life.
