Rea W Brown, husband of Lela (Bohon) Brown, attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music - one of the most prominent music institutions in the country. He was a student of the flute. It was there that he met his bride, Lela Kathryn Bohon. They married in 1934 and lived in Roselawn, Ohio.
For a time, Rea was the director of the Armco Male Chorus in Middletown for which Lela was an accompanist. The chorus performed on WLW radio and was heard coast to coast.
Rea died 30 Sep 1975.
He was dearly missed by Lela for the remainder of her life. On January 28, 1993, she related in a letter, "This is not a good month for me. Rea died Jan. 30, 1975, so it will be 18 years, Sat. It has seemed a long, cold month to me and yet the weather actually hsn't been too bad. Today is bright and sunny but it's cold".
