MARSHALL, Ill. - Raymond Robert Reschan, 83, of San Clemente, Calif., passed away at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, in Brighton Gardens of San Juan Capistrano, Calif. He was the widower of Doris Crumrin Reschan, who was formerly of Marshall. He was born March 13, 1923, in East Chicago, Ill., to Joseph Gregory Reschan and Anna Ivancic Reschan. He was a retired aerospace chemical engineer with the Department of the Military of the United States.
Survivors include two sons, Robin C. Reschan of Oceanside, Calif., and Toby Reschan of Newport Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Jeanne Reschan of Lacy, Wash.; four grandchildren, Ryan R. Reschan, Jennifer A. Reschan, Julia E. Reschan and Joseph R. Reschan; a brother-in-law, Dale Crumrin of Marshall; and two sisters, Mary A. Yeley of Bozeman, Mont., and Anna I. Eldridge of Paris.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Bahia Corinthians Yacht Club of Newport Beach, and was past president of San Clemente High School Booster Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. CST Saturday in Livingston Cemetery in Marshall, with the Rev. Chris Brey officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975, and Clark County Post 90 American Legion. There is no visitation. Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. Sixth St., assisted with arrangements.
