- ↑ "Ray S. Sherman, 81, of Pataskala Route 1 (Jersey), passed away atDoctors Hospital Saturday where he had been a patient for a week. BornOctober 26, 1888 in Columbus he was the son of Geortge A. and MayWheeler Sherman. Mr. Sherman retired in 1954 after 40 years employmentwith the Moore and Ross Company. He started working for the company attheir Jersey plant and drove a tank truck from there to Columbus dailyuntil the Jersey plant was closed. He worked at the main Moore and Rossplant in Columbus until the company was sold to Bordens when hetransferred to the M. and R, Dietetic Laboratory on Cleveland Avenue. Hewas foreman of the weigh room until his retirement. He was a member andelder of the Jersey Presbyterian Church and a member of the PataskalaLodge 404 F&AM. Surviving are two sons, Harold of Pataskala and G.Arthur of Route 1, Lyndon, three grandchildren, threegreat-grandchildren, a brother William T. Sherman of Pataskala Route 3and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Condit of Morgan Hills, California andMrs. Mary Clark of Blacklick. His wife Sadie Gieseck Sherman precededhim in death in November 1964. Funeral services were held at theThurston Funeral home Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Jack L Pursellofficiated. Interment Pataskala Cemetery."
