!Ransom is buried at Shiloh True Light Cemetery in an unmarked grave. During the census listings he lived in Lancaster Co., SC in 1870; in Union Co, NC in 1880 and 1910 in Lancaster Co., SC. The 1920 Census states Ransom is 71 years old & living on Lancaster-Chesterfield Rd. He is listed as married though his wife is living in Mecklenburg Co., NC with her daughter. He was at that time a merchant in a General Store working "on account". His death certificate indicates he was living in Clear Creek Township at the time of his death. The death certificate of his son, Joshua, listed his name as "Rance" so that may have been a nickname.
