Ridder, fehirde (skattmester) i Tønsberg len. Nevnt 1349.[3] I 1351 inngikk Rane et forlik om arv etter kona Åsas første, der Åsa fikk 5 markebol i Knive og 2 1/2 markebol i Solum, begge i Skoger. Det var restoppgjøret for hustru Åsas medgift, festegave og morgengave. I 1360 var Rane fehirde. 20. 3. 1362 gir kong Magnus Rane gårdene Snekkestad i Våle med Langøya samt Østby i Tjølling til odel og eie som dekning av kostnader Rane hadde hatt ved byggearbeider på Tunsberghus. Siste gang vi hører om herr Rane, er 21. april 1362.


English translation: Rane was a knight, and the treasurer in Tønsberg. He was mentioned in 1349.[3] In 1351, Rane signed a settlement of inheritance regarding his wife Åsa's first marriage, whereby Åsa received 5 markebol in Knive and 2 1/2 markebol in Solum, both in Skoger. This was residual settlement of his wife Åsa's dowry, ... In 1360 Rane was treasurer. On 20/3/1362, King Magnus gave? Rane the farms Snekkestad in Våle with Langøya and Østby in Tjølling as compensation to cover costs Rane had claimed for construction work on Tunsberghus. The last time we hear of Sir Rane is 21 April 1362.
