SAUNDERS, Bishop Ralph A. Bishop Ralph A. Saunders, 67, beloved husband of Barbara J. (LaPage) Saunders, of East Windsor, died Friday (October 5, 2007) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Wakefield, New Brunswick, Canada on August 17, 1940, son of the late Eldon and Elizabeth (McHatten) Saunders, he had lived in East Hartford and South Windsor before moving to East Windsor in 1984. He was the Bishop of Victory Outreach Ministries in East Windsor (formerly Faith Tabernacle Church of East Hartford). Pastor was a 1962 graduate of Zion Bible Institute and was founder and pastor of two churches in Canada before moving to Connecticut. He was a member of the Ethics Committee and the Veteran`s Cemetery Committee, of East Windsor. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Barbara, he leaves his children, Rev. Kevin Saunders and his wife, Laurie of East Windsor, Sherri Saunders and Shelli McDougal, both of East Windsor, Abigail Wolpert and her husband, Jeff of Ashford and Cathy Tracy and her husband, Rodney of Ellington and seven grandchildren, Shelbi Joy, Kevin, Jr., Kyle, Karrie, Krista, Crystal and Christopher. A funeral service will be held, Tuesday 11 a.m., at the Victory Outreach Ministries, 329 Scantic Road, East Windsor. Burial will follow in Scantic Cemetery, East Windsor. His family will receive friends, Monday from 5-8 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
