Ralph James Ray, 73, a 25 year East Wenatchee, WA resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, following a brief illness. He was born on December 18, 1938, at Pittsburgh, KS to the late Ralph James and Eleanor (Brooks) Lemon. He was raised to the age of seven in Kansas, prior to moving with his family to Ridgecrest, CA. He graduated from the Ridgecrest High School in 1956. He remained in the Ridgecrest area until making a trip to Washington to visit his parents and found work in Yakima. He made his home in Yakima, where he worked in the roofing business at Paul Dressell Roofing, as well as working in the auto body and fender business for Hahn Motors and S&S Body & Fender. He met Pamela Jo Storme in Yakima and following a long courtship, they were married on July 5, 1986. They moved to make their home in East Wenatchee in 1987. Ralph worked at Wenatchee Body & Fender, Finishline Auto Body, Leonard Evans Body Shop and Maaco Auto Body prior to retiring. After retiring, he had worked a part time job at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee. He enjoyed going camping, hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors. He looked forward to his brother, Richard's annual two week trip to go camping and fishing together. He was also quite fond of his Maltese Schnauzer, his buddy named "Rocky". Ralph is survived by his wife, Pam Ray of East Wenatchee; six children, Arthur (Tammy) Thompson of Outlook, WA, Tina (Dusty) Stingley of Yakima, Ron (Donna) Ray of Moses Lake, Mike Ray, Ronda Sue Ray and her companion, Jason Duncan and Pennie (Brian) Beatty, all of Yakima; two sisters, Sandra Tomac of Centralia, WA and Mary Jo Mohrmann of Napa Vine, WA; one brother, Richard Ray of Tualatin, OR; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father; one son, James Grassmeyer; one granddaughter, Tiela Ray; and one brother, Artie "Junior" Ray.
