Facts and Events
[edit] Disputed LineagesMany sources state that Ralph died unmarried (for example, source 1 below). However, Collins/Brydges has this to say: "This Sir Ralph Percy, Knt....is usually represented as having died unmarried; but the contrary appears from innumerable proofs, among the original evidences of the Percy family, preserved at Sion House and Alnwick Castle." It goes on to state that Sir Ralph married Eleanor Acton, and had three sons: Henry, Ralph, and George, and apparently a daughter, supposed to have been named Margaret, wife of Sir Ralph Harbottle, Knt.
Sir Ralph Percy (11 August 1425 – 25 April 1464) was an English nobleman of the House of Percy, a knight, a Governor of Bamburgh Castle and a supporter of the Lancastrian faction in the Wars of the Roses. Percy was the son of Henry Percy, 2nd Earl of Northumberland and Lady Eleanor Neville, and the grandson of Sir Henry "Hotspur" Percy.
