Ralph John Hefner, 56, 620 Highland, died Sunday morning at a Topeka hospital after an apparent heart attach.
He was born Nov. 2, 1923 at Topeka, the son of Alexander and Catherine Kamer Hefner.
He was a lifelong resident of Topeka. Mr. Hefner worked for the maintenance department of the Topeka Parks and Recreation Department. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
On May 12, 1962 he was married to Mildred Quant at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Michael Hefner, Memphis, Tenn.; a stepson, Johnny Jackson, Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Miller, 525 Wabash, and Laurie Hefner of the home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Hoover, 3309 Pennsylvania; two brothers, Alex Hefner, 419 N. Arter, and Aloysius Hefner, 712 Arter; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Daniels, 424 Arter; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Hefner will lie in state 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Brennan Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
