Ralph C. Edwards unidentified newspaper, July 1975 HAMILTON, Mo.--Ralph Cutler Edwards, 79, died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Sloan. Born in Virginia, Mr. Edwards had been a resident of Caldwell County since 1902. A World War I veteran, he was a member of the Hamilton American Legion, the Caldwell County Barracks of World War I Veterans and was first vice commander of District 1 of the World War Veterans. He had resided in California and then returned to Hamilton seven years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha Edwards of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Neiva McMillan, Downey, Calif., Mrs. Doris Reid, Arcadia, Calif., and Mrs Virginia Castady, Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Homer Edwards, Hamilton; four sisters, Mrs. Callie Evans, Hamilton, Mrs. Pearl Green, Blackwell, Okla., Mrs. Birdie Brunk, Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Bessie King, Quintman, Texas, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at Bram mortuary.

Ralph C. Edwards (dated 1975, Hamilton Advocate) Ralph Cutler Edwards, 79, of Hamilton died about 2:15 Sunday afternoon, July 20, at the home of Mrms. Rolla Sloan in Hamilton where he and his wife, Bertha, and Elmer Grove of Lathrop had been dinner guests. Mrs. Sloan and Mrs. Edwards and Mr. Grove are sister and brother. Mr. Edwards suffered a heart ailment for several years. Mr.Edwards was the son of Kenny and Louisa Edwards and was born in Woodlawn, Va. They came to Caldwell County in 1902. Mrms. Edwards lived in Caldwell County, then in California for more than 40 years. They returned to Hamilton seven years ago. He served in World War I, was a member of the Hamilton American Legion Post, quartermaster of Caldwell County Barracks 1547 of WW-I Veterans and junior vice commander of District I, Veterans of WW-I. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Bertha, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Neiva McMillan, Downey, Calif.; Mrs. Doris Reid, Arcadia Calif.; Mrs. Virginia Castady of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Homer Edwards of Hamilton, four sisters, Mrs. Callie Evans, Hamilton; Mrs. Pearl Greene, Blackwell, Okla.; Mrs. Birdie Brunk, Wichita, Kans.; Mrs. Bessie King of Quintman, Texas. The funeral service was Wednesday at 1 at the Bram Chapel conducted by Rev. Carl Whitacre. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetary southeast of Hamilton. Legion members of Boutwell-Clark-Craven-Eads Post 285 were pallbearers. Members of Caldwell County Barracks 1547 WW-I Veterans were honorary pallbearers.
