There is now a significant problem with including Rachel as the daughter of Jacob Houshal. This data is shown below:
- Originally we believed that the Jacob Case shown as the son-in-law in Jacob Houshal's WILL, was actually Johann Kase (aka Johann Phillip Kase). This is now well refuted by the discovery by another researcher of documents showing that a Catherine Case, renounced administration of the estate of Jacob Case who died intestate. The papers show the names of Peter and Matthias Houshel. We assume these are her brothers.
GIVEN THE EVIDENCE ABOVE, IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO ACCEPT THE IDEA THAT A DAUGHTER NAMED RACHEL EXISTED. Unfortunately other researchers who list this woman as Rachel Houser, are unable to give any documentation that indicates Rachel's maiden name.

Below are notes from data shown previous to the information shown above. The data below is provided only for its historical value.
- The man recorded in the WILL of Jacob Houshal as his son-in-law Jacob Case. We are unable to discover a Jacob Case/Kase married to a woman whose name is conceivably derived to be Housel (this has now changed with information presented above). Have found a record for a Rachel Houser who married Johann Phillip Kase. Unfortunately, there is scant evidence that can be included here. Further research should be considered by those directly related to the Case/Kase family.

- Currently showing birth for Rachel in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, though this is only a guess.

- NOTE the extreme difference in age if we give any weight to the data provided by Mrs Case in 1985.
