Anderson discusses the evidence that lead to the identification of Rachel as the sister of James and Clement Bate, primarily the will of Smallhope Bigg. Rachel, daughter of James and Mary Bate, was baptized at Lydd, Kent, on 5 Feb 1603/4 [NEHGR 51:269]
