Father, PUGH PRICE, died in 1775. Charles I was named in his will & left "a tract of land lying on Falling Creek by Samuel Southerland". Charles I took possession of the land in 1777 when he was 21.

Pew was deeded 120 acres on Four Mile Creek by his father on 1 Sep 1710. He lived in Henrico, Amelia & Prince Edward Counties [Prince Edward formed from Amelia.

p.103 1 Aug 1710 John Price appeared personlly and acknowledged one Deed dated 31 Aug 1710 from himself to his son Pew Price to be his Act & Deed and thereupon ordered that the same be Recorded.

Will of Pugh Price. Date 20 Nov 1774. Named: dau Sarah, Son William, son Pugh, dau Mical, dau Phebee, dau Tabitha, dau Elizabeth, son Charles, dau Fanny, dau Judith, dau Patty, son John, son Daniel, son Josiah, son James. [15 children] Wife is with child. The plantation is to be divided among the eight youngest and the unborn child. It would appear that these are the children of Jerusha. Exec: wife Jerusha, son William and John Morton. Signed: Pugh Price. Wit: Philemon Bird, Alexander LeGrand, Wm Penick, Jeremiah Penick. Proved 17 Apr 1775. The list of children seems to include some doubling of names. There is a John born to Tabitha Barrow and a John born to Jerusha Penick. There are also two sons named Pugh - one born 1734 to Tabitha, a son named Williamson born to Jerusha in 1770, and then Pugh Williamson, the youngest child, born 4 Jan 1775 - a son not yet born when the will was written. It would appear that the earliest John may have died as a young child, also Williamson - since they do not appear in later records. However, there were two Pughs - the son of Tabitha settled in Fayette Co KY and died in 1814; Pugh Williamson Price moved to Missouri and was the father of Gen. Sterling Price of Civil War fame.

His father deeded to him 120 acres on 01 Sep 1710, reserving a life interest. After his father died, his mother and stepfather Hugh Ligon relinquished this interest on 07 Oct 1717 (Henrico Co. Wills & Deeds 1710-14, p. 25; Deeds 1714-18, p. 195).
Pugh’s will was written 20 Nov 1774 and proven 17 Apr 1775 in Prince Edward Co., VA (Will Book 1, p. 173). Children names in his will are:
Sarah, William, Pugh, Michal, Phoebe, Tabitha, Elizabeth, Charles, Fanny, Judith, Patty, John, Daniel, Josiah, James, and an as yet unborn child. Jerusha’s will was recorded in Powhatan County in 1808.
