  2. Several sources make what appear to be errors about Prudence of a frustrating nature. Source:Hapgood, Warren. Hapgood Family : Descendants of Shadrach, 1656-1898, p. 25, calls Prudence "probably daughter of Joseph Hayward by first wife, Abigail", despite citing the first deed. But Joseph's first wife was not Abigail, and his second daughter was a daughter of the named Nathaniel Treadway. Find A Grave gives her death date as 27 Dec 1754 on a memorial page having no gravestone image. But the Hale Collection record for Prudence Crary on this date gives the age as 48, which appears to be a different person. Additionally, it gives a birth of 19 Jun 1687 in Concord, a reasonable date, but not found in the vital records of Concord. Finally, it says she had 3 husbands, but only names 2, and as the second husband appears to have outlived her (she is not named in his will), a third husband would be impossible. Source:Spear, Burton W. Search for the Passengers of the Mary and John, 1630 gives her lifespan as "(1688-1736)", though the basis for that is unknown as well.
