Mary D'AIGRE, wife of James GONSILE [GOUPIL dit GOUSILLE], made a petition on 26 Sep 1727 against Joseph BROSARD dit Beausoleil "for committing fornication with her Daughter Mary who being brought to bed of a Daughter had laid the Same to the Said Brosard, and he Refusing the Child Mentainance [sic] and Denying himself to be the father Prayed Releif [sic]." He was ordered nonetheless to Pay weekly maintenance payments of 3 shillings and ninepence until the child should be 8 years old, or go to prison. [Was Mary this Pierre's daughter? If not, she would be under age 16. Joseph BROUSSARD born around 1702, was age 25 at this time. He had married Agnes THIBODEAU on 11 Sep 1725.] |
