Translation of the marriage certificate of Pierre Lannegrand, in posession of Michele Roberts Hassell, states that he was a trader and lived in Bordeaux at the time of his marriage. The certificate also states, "The future husband, widowed in first marriage of Marie Gabrielle Galbarret (deceased in Bordeaux on 02/16/1894)...

A story is told by his granddaughter, Germaine Roberts Trenary, that when Pierre died, a brother-in-law offered to marry his widow, Marie Marguerite (Catherine) Nico. She refused the offer and the families (Lannegrand and Nico) have not spoken to each other to this day.
