BIRTH: Was he born in Halifax, Acadia? Family had probably arrived by 4 Apr 1765 in Louisiana with Joseph BROUSSARD's group. Born after parents arrived in Lousiana? Marriage contract says "native of America," when it might have said native of Acadia or Canada if born there.

Pierre died in 1799. His widow married at St. Martinville on 26 Nov 1799 to Francois LOUVIERE of Boston (widower of Marie-Louise THIBODEAU), son of Jean-Baptiste & Genevieve BERGERON.

Land sale before Commandant Louis JUDICE dated 2 Jan 1789 has Pierre ARSENEAUX, resident of the District of La Fourche des Chetimachas, Ascension Parish, selling a plot of land of 4 arpents for 250 piastres to Jacque THERRIOT, also a resident. It was bounded above by Baptiste BERGERON and below by [his brother] Uzebe ARSENEAU. Pierre signed with his ordinary mark, but Jacques TERRIOT signed.

Witnesses: Uzebe ARCENEAUX, groom's brother; Michel GAUDIN, his cousin; Joseph BOURGEOIS, bride's uncle; Bonnaventure GAUDIN, her cousin; assisted by their father, step-father, and mothers. Both parties have 50 piastres, the bride's given by her parents as dowry, the groom's by his step-father Bazile PREJEAN. Signed by Miguel CANTRELLE; Michel GAUDIN; Bonnaventure GAUDIN; others made marks, including bride and groom.

    The very next entry shows a marriage of Pedro [ARSENAULT] (parents not given) on 24 Apr 1787 to Angela BURSUA [BOURGEOIS] (parents not given) (SJA-2, 3). [The marriage register has the entries with no other between.]

Three of his four sons established there.
