Facts and Events
John Imboden parents=John Adam(SWEIGERT/SWEIGARD) Imboden and Eleanor Diller. John's marr.#2=Elizabeth Miller/Mueller. Extensive Fraktur(German marriage license) report 29 Nov 93 from Corinne Earnest, PO Box 490, Damascus, MD 20872 in response to my inquiry for IMBODEN provides obviously pertinent data (see IMBODEN file). Again, most males named Johannes, but used middle name. Mention of LDS microfilm 1290169 and certificate on file at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. Johan Phillip Imboden of Annville (present Lebanon County,PA) not specifically; but Heinrich Peter, his wife Christina (born Imboden), and their dau.Christena born Annville Township, Dauphin Co. (now Lebanon) on 1 OCT 1800, baptized by Lutheran REV LOCHMAN (see Adam Braucht/Rebecca Imboden marriage report for his name as pastor for that mariage) 28 Oct 1800. Sponsors were Johannes Imboden and wife, Eleanora. Also in PA State Museum is Fraktur of Sallie S. Imboden, dau. of John Imboden and Sarah, dau. of Solomon Seigrist or Siegrist. Sallie born 20 Jan 1855 (Fraktur #64.56.26 at PA Museum Commission in Harrisburg for price (send SASE). Letter states that Lebanon Co. was formed from Dauphin Co. in 1813. Need to study geography for Halifax Twsp. 1813 both counties, as prior assumptions could be in error on family location. Furthermore, one report states the family lived in PA shortly before moving to VA. In his will he mentioned Eleanora, Philip, Solomon, Elizabeth, Jacob, & Samuel. One record identified John Phillip Imboden as a Swiss, but not specifically as born there. See Lebanon Co., PA Will Book C, pg. 272 on 4 Jun. 1849 with much info. on family at time of Phillip's death. Records of Hill Lutheran Church of N. Annville Twp, Lebanon Co., PA, page 68 lists Philip Imboden and wife, Elizabeth (Miller); son Philip (II) b. July 1799; sponsors John Riechert and wife; also sons Solomon. b. 1801; Jacob. b 1805; and daughter Elizabeth b. 1803. |
