From Nancy Hoot:

Much of the information on Phillip came from his War of 1812 records. He reportedly was drafted on June 18, 1812, at Irwin Township, Venango CO, Pennsylvania. He served in the Philadelphia Militia, Company 7, Regiment 132; and was listed as a Private. He reportedly served two separate periods, from July 26, 1813 to August 11, 1813; and from January 1, 1814 to February 11, 1814. This was a total of 59 days. He later requested a pension for this service, but was rejected for insufficient service. He did receive a land grant however, 165 acres in Medina Co., OH, which is apparently why they moved there. His occupation was listed as farmer.

Phillip's wife Christena Ghost, lists her maiden name several times in the record. Her father, Philp was a neighbor to the Hoffmans in Venango Twp., Butler, Pennsylvania. The record gives 2 different dates for their marriage, November 15, 1800 and April 1, 1801. Both indicate they were married in Irwin Township, Venango CO, Pennsylvania, by Abraham Selders.

Married Christena Ghost on September 15, 1800 in, Venango County, Pennsylvania.

Philip served during the War of 1812 for a total of 59 days as a Private in the Philadelphia Militia, Company 7, 132 Regiment. He received a land grant for his service in the War of 1812 of 165 acres, a farm, in Medina Co., Ohio.

His name was porperly spelled Philip.
