Isle of Wight County, Virginia, Record of Wills, Deeds, Etc., Vol. 1, P art 1, page 96 Will of Phillip Lupo In the Name of God, Amen, I Phillip Lupo, Senr. of the Isle of Wigh t County in Virginia being at present in health of body, intending God w illing, for London in the Kingdom of England to look after certain good s, land & what else shall be found due unto me either as heir to Philli p Lupo, Goldsmith, my father or as heir to James Lupo my brother or as h eir to Katherine Morecroft my sister lately deceased and being willing t hat this present estate whereby it hath pleased the Lord to endow me wi th here in Virginia should be disposed of after my death, not knowing h ow soon it may please the Lord to take up me, I therefore dispose of th e same now in my present lifetime being in good health & perfect & sure m emory, as followeth, Vizt: As for the present estate I now have in Virg inia, it is my will that the same be equally divided betwixt my loving w ife Marie Lupo, Phillip Lupo my eldest son & James Lupo my youngest son w hom I do hereby nominate to be my joint executors equally & proportiona lly my said executors paying all such debts as I now justly owe in Virg inia.

Secondly, it is my will that my said executors or either of them pa y & deliver unto Mary Ryall my daughter, after it shall be found that I a m dead not returning to Virginia, one two years old heifer provided no e state be brought into the county or sent by me out of England & if any t hen shall for sent in by me on my order then no heifer to be paid but s hall then pay to my said daughter 1000# of tobacco. And that this my wi ll may be the better performed, I do request my loving friends William W ebb and Robert Kea to see that same put in execution and to be done by t heir oversight & care.

This being my last will and testament revoking and renouncing all f ormer wills I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of March 1 668.

Inventory of what Estate Phillip Lupo, Senr. is now possessed with, tak en by the Executors within, this 8th day of March 1668. Imprimusfrom the: one feather bed, bolster, one white blanket one r ed blanket, one red shag rug, so much carpeting & a _________ as will m ake three curtains, one flat bed, & feather bolster, one green rug & tw o old red blankets, nine pewter dishes, whereof one is a butter dish, t hree pewter dishes more, one pewter basin, five pewter parringers, one p ewter flaggon, two pewter tankards, one pewter saltseller, one chest, o ne small trunk, one meal tray, one new bed stead, one pair new sheets, 1 600 lbs. nails, 500 of 20p. & 10p. nails or thereabouts, one small lant ern, one great iron pot, & pot hooks, two small iron pots & pot hooks, o ne brass kettle, one small brass skillet, one brass candlestick, one br ass skimmer, one chafing dish, one gridiron, one _______ candlestick, o ne iron spit, one dripping pan, one large dripping pan, one funnel, one g rater, one frying pan, one pot rack, one smoothing iron, two iron pots, o ne pair of tongs, one braker, one earthen dish, two earthen pots, two h andsaws, two iron hammers, two pails, one small form, one washing tub, o ne brass gimlett, one sifter, one old chest, one box, two iron wedges, o ne great auger, one pair of pincers, one gimlett, one parcell of hooks, & h inges, one parcell of old iron, two old tubs, five cows, two draught st eers, one bull of 4 years old, cart & wheels & yolk & irons, two young c alves, two brooding sows, twelve small pigs, & my plantation according t o lease, one old brass kettle, one powdering tub.

Marie Taberer Higgins is his 2nd wife. Philip was living in Isle of Wight Co by June 27 1664. Marie was the widow of Francis Higgins; this marriage had to be after 1652, as Francis Higgins was in Isle of Wight Co records in 1652.

Philip Jr is also called Philip Sr in his will of 1668. As Philip Lupo, Sr, he left a will which stated he was going to England to settle the estates of his father, "Philip Lupo, Gouldsmith" & mentions his brother, James & his sister, Katherine Mosecraft (sic), as well as his wife, Marie; his eldest son, Philip; youngest son, James; & dau Mary Ryall." His widow, Marie, was living in 1672. Will was proved February 9 1670, Isle of Wight Co Virginia.

Philip Jr lived in Isle of Wight Co as of June 17 1664. Family lived near James River in Virginia.
