Rockaway records of Morris County, N.J. Families by J. Percy Crayon says that Phebe was the daughter of John Jackson and granddaughter of Benjamin Jackson and says "This name [Phebe] is not on the Jackson records however."

So it has taken some digging to find the right John with father Benjamin that this could be. Even now the only evidence that the proper John for her father and Benjamin for her grandfather has been found is that the dates fit and the area is right. There has been no other Benjamin Jackson with son John found in the area during that time. It does stand to reason that Benjamin would migrate with his parents James Jackson Jr. and his second wife, Mary Fitz Randolph when they went to the Morris County area. The whole of Randolph Township was named for Mary Fitz Randolph's brother, Hartshorne Fitz Randolph.
