Peter Sweeney was born in about 1886 in Glasgow, son of Ann Sweeney, formerly Hassan, and her husband Peter Sweeney, a galvanizer. Peter appears in the 1891 and 1901 censuses living with his parents and brother Andrew in Glasgow. His parents said in 1911 that they had had ten children, but only two were still living. In 1901 Peter was working as a message boy. He has yet to be traced after 1901.
