A cross reference is listed as "1880 History of Richland Co., Ohio" page 862. Also letter from Joyce Lichtenwalter, 1935 Red Oak Dr., Mansfield, OH 44904-1651 received on 14 March 1994. Her information says the the earliest known RUHL ancestor was likely PETER RUHL, who arrived in Philadelphia from Germany (The Palatinate) on the ship, "Samuel" on August 27, 1739. A letter from Velva Morgan, 7295 US Route 2, Mt. Gilead, OH 43338-9648 states that this Peter may be our ancestor or that the Peter Ruhl who arrived who arrived 27 August 1739 on the "Adventure" is our ancestor. No proof at this time.
