- ↑ He enlisted after his parent's death. He sent his money home to help support the younger siblings. John Amos joined Peter in the 155th. It is said that he witnessed his brother Peter's wounding and tried to carry him from the battlefield during the retreat from the enemy but could carry him no further and had to leave him as the enemy was fast approaching. Peter's place of burial is unknown.
