The poor old man does not see or hear very well and while attempting to cross Harrison Street was struck by an auto. His foot was crushed so badly that he had to be brought back to Ossian at once by the owner of the auto. He is recovering slowly at his home, but is still badly bruised."

Tuesday night about half past nine the house of Peter HOUSEL, of west Ossian, caught fire from the kitchen stove and was entirely consumed. Ben HOOVER and family occupied part of the house and Mr. HOUSEL the remainder and boarded with Mr. HOOVER. All of Mr. HOUSEL's household goods were saved, but Mr. HOOVER's were almost all lost. Mr. HOOVER's loss is a severe one to him, as he had no insurance, but our good citizens, in their usual style, are generously coming to his aid in a substantial way."
