    Mr. Peter Heeringa of Lynden went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 1, at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden. He was 93.
    Peter was the son of Thomas and Ziena (Assink) Heeringa and was born on the family farm near Lynden on December 25, 1910. A life-time Lynden area resident, he was married to Rena Haveman on February 17, 1932 and together they operated a dairy farm on the East Badger Road.
    Mr. Heeringa was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church where he also served on the Consistory and taught Sunday School. He served on the Lynden Christian School Board and also was a member and former President of the Board of the Christian Health Care Center. Along with his other activities, Peter also enjoyed traveling and keeping accurate records of his animals, farm and the weather.
    He was preceded by his parents, three sisters, four brothers, grandson Jeff Heeringa and is survived by his wife of seventy-two years Rena; children Joyce and husband John Fakkema of Oak Harbor, Ted and wife Frieda Heeringa of Everson, Don and wife Coggin Heeringa of Ellis Bay, WI., Rose and husband Don Scheffer and Randy and wife Sharon Heeringa of Lynden; twenty-nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother Gerrit and wife Nellie Heeringa of Lynden and numerous other relatives.
    Memorials may be made to Faith Reformed Church, P.O. Box 612, or to the Lynden Christian Schools, 417 Nooksack Ave., both Lynden, WA. 98264.
