If they are Peter's grandchildren, these brothers and their sister, Mrs. Goodins, are completely ignored in the will of their supposed uncle, Rev. John Elwyn of Norwich (son of Peter Elwyn of Wooddalling), who mentions a large number of his nieces and nephews. Secondly, Peler Elwyn's will is ambiguous. It is unclear whether it mentions two grandson's named William Elwyn or just one. If the will does refer to William Elwyn of Heigham, it ignores his brothers John and Richard and their unnamed sister. The siblings of William Elwyn, therefore, are ignored in the wills of their grandfather and uncle, if Moriarty’s theory is accurate. The Barker connection is also tenuous. The names of the Barker relatives in the two branches of the family are only a minimal match, easily within the realm of coincidence.
