Flax-dresser of the City of Chester. He and brother-in-law Nathan apparently didn’t get along. They were all living in the same house. Peter and Esther eventually left for Pennsylvania. From the Frandley Monthly Meeting Minutes at Cheshire, England: 12th 1682/83 - Peter Dixe promised them to comen unto this meeting, or else to send a paper of condemnation. But he didn't, so they are going to visit again. 1st 1683 - Peter Dix his paper is come to this meeting which being published is found too short and is returned to be enlarges... Nathan Maydock being present has promised to give fourth a paper against himselfe and send it to the next meeting. 2nd 1683 - Peter Dix ... now under consinement ... Nathan Maydock who hath broke his promise ... 3rd 1683 - Peter Dix & Nathan Maydock have each of them sent a paper of condemnation to this meeting; soe it is ordered that they both of them read them in Chester meeting, being the meeting they belong to, as alsoe that they be published in Chester at the discretion of John Boyer and Tho: Griffith who are ordered to take care therein. 4th 1683 - Peter Dix and Nathan Maydock paper have been read and published. 5th 1683- It is ordered that John Worrall & John Amery doe once more speak to Peter Dix to remove according to his promisinto some other part of the citty. 6th 1683 - John Worrall hath spoak with Peter Dix who Answeres he neight could nor would remove from the house hee lives in. 7th 1683 - The paper drawn again Peter Dix hath been shewd him who persisting in his refusal to Answer Friends the sd paper Bartholemen Soppock is ordered to be published. Peter and Esther migrated 1685 and settled in Birmingham, PA. Probably came on ship “Friendship of Liverpool” -- he’s listed as withness to will of John Worthington on that vessel in 1684-5.
