Peter Cosner was born in 1722 in Germany to Johannes Phillip Cosner/Kastner/Kisnter. His mother is unknown. The family immigrated to the port of Philadelphia in 1732 on the Ship Pink Plaissance. Johannes Phillip Kistner can be seen living in Philadelphia on an early census of 1767. Peter Cosner was in the Pennsylvania Associators, Battalion 2, Plumstead Co., under Captain William McCalla. He knew the Gibsons and had property next to Robert Gibson Sr. Captain Robert Gibson Jr. killed the leader of the Doan gang; Moses Doan, in 1783. Peter Cosner married Hannah Britton/Brittan about 1747. They had a daughter; Rebecca Cosner - who married Peter Wood who also was in the same company as his father-in-law Peter Cosner. There may have been two other sons born to them; Peter Cosner Jr., and John Cosner.
