Anna M. Lilfred is Augusta Bruder/Remer's mother - per death card data. Is this another version of Matilda's name or another wife of Peter Bruder????

Per 1900 census Peter Bruder could not speak english.

The following is from a book that Amy Bruder put together with family tree in 1985. It is 44 pages long - I wrote down the first few pages of it. Amy Bruder's address at that time was: Rt. 4, Long Prairie, MN 56347.

Peter Bruder lived most of his life in Germany, I haven't found much of anything else about his family other than that he had a half-brother, George Bruder. George was killed in the Army in Germany. I have no information on his wife, although they had three daughters, known, that came to Minnesota: Apolonia, Mary, and Bertha. Mary married Martin Stach, Apolonia married Peter Thill, and Bertha married Peter Palava.
Peter was born in June 1826, and married Matilda Tetzlaff (maybe). They had three children, known, that came to Minnesota: John, August, and Auguste. Peter's wife died in Germany before he came over here.
Peter came to the United States with his kids, Auguste and John and their families. He first lived with Auguste and her husband, John Remer. Then he lived with John and his wife, Augusta Veising, until his death in 1910.
When I talked to the older relation, most of them, told me about Peter's accident. He was on his way to the mill with the horses, and wagon with planks, and it was downhill and something scared the horses and they went wild, the planks flipped and Peter fell and got his leg caught in the wheel and tore it off. He lived for years after that.
Peter's daughter, Auguste, married John Remer and Peter's son, August, married Apolonia Remer, they were also brother and sister.
August Bruder was born April 16, 1857 in Germany. He married Apolonia Remer on ? in Germany. Apolonia was born Dec. 18, 1855 in Germany. August was the first to come to Minnesota, they arrived in the late 1880's and setteled around Jordon, MN. Three of their seven children were born there: Michael, August, and Bernnadiena, who died at about 14 from pneumonia. They moved to Reynolds township, Todd county, MN. The other four children were born here: Louis, Arthur, Elizabeth and George.
August died Oct. 6, 1941. Apolonia died June 12, 1924. They are both buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Long Prairie.

John Bruder, son of Peter Bruder, was born in Germany in 1853. He married Augusta Veising, born in Germany in 1860. They had six children: Clem, Mary, John, Martha, and August, who had a twin sister who died at birth. I do not have her name.
John died in 1925, and Augusta died in 1922, they are both buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Long Prairie.

Auguste Bruder, daughter of Peter Bruder, was born in Germany, Aug. 18, 1860. She married John Remer, born in Germany, May 19, 1864. They had seven children: Lucy, Ambrose, Anna, Bernard, Gregor, Francis, and Lena.
Auguste died on May 22, 1903. John died Aug. 17, 1926. They are both buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Long Prairie.
