Perry W. Creel, 82, a resident of the Springhill community, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 27th, at his residence. He was a retired employee of the Crown-Zellerbach Corporation and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Carpenter Creel of Springhill; four sons, Henry L. Creel and Milferd Creel, both of Springhill, Carlos Creel of Fort Adams, Mississippi, and Denferd Creel of Bogalusa; four daughters, Mrs. Marion (Chessie) Newman and Mrs. Terry (Linda) Byrd, both of Springhill, Mrs. Kenneth (Gladys) Ard of Oak Grove, and Ms. Darnell Thigpen of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Harvey Creel of Franklinton; 21 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. The body lay in state at the Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton until the time for funeral services, which were conducted Tuesday, October 29th, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Keith Tipton, the Rev. Larry Jenkins, and the Rev. J. B. Rockco officiating. Interment was in the Springhill Cemetery.
