Linda Creel Byrd, 72, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at her residence in Franklinton.
Born Jan. 27, 1940, she was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and a retired postal carrier.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Byrd of Franklinton; a son, Ricky (Debra) Byrd of Franklinton, and a daughter, Daphne (Bob) Stopper of Leicester, N.C.; four grandchildren and spouses: Misty and James Bickham, Kristen and Jeff Seay, Casey and Heather Byrd, Blake and Noel Thomas; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Chessie Newman, Gladys Ard and Darnell Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Ollie Carpenter Creel, and four brothers, Henry Creel, Milford Creel, Carlos Creel and Denford Creel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11 at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Pete Williams and Rev. Tommy Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Byrd Letchworth Cemetery.
