From "The Serviss & Hoellenbeck & Thomson Ross Families And Their Johnnycake Journey"

PERRIN JR ROSS (Perrrin 4 Jeremiah 3 Jospeh 2 John 1) was the son of Lt Perrin Ross and Mercy Otis. His place of birth is given as Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 25 Dec 1778 in Ross Family notes at the Erie County Pennsylvania Society for Genealolgical Research and as Montville Connecticut Oct 1778 in John Ross Devotion's manuscript Genealogy Notes on the Ross, Utley and Devotion Families at the Connecticut State Library in Hartford. Mr Devotion does not give his source. Others believe to, that Mercy returned to her parents' home in Montville for a time after the Massacre; if so Mr. Devotion's assertion may be correct.
