USA Civil War service: mustered 2 Sep 1864 (? Co b OR F) 4th Minnesota Infantry ...served briefly..under Capt John E TOURTELLOTTE.. Wounded in left hip at ______________battle. Mustered out 12 June 1865 at St. Paul, MN. Institutionalized...1890 census lists him "Insane Now" in State Insane Asylum at Rochester, MN. 1902 he was transferred to State Hospital in Anoka, MN.


Where, exactly, is he buried? Death certificate says only "Isanti".

Pehr obtained a farm homestad after war but military experience affected his mind. He did not keep his farm long. 1870 & 1880 census he lived with brothers John & Ole on their farms.

His guardian, Rev. Magnus LARSON (pastor of Swedish Baptist Church in St Paul) noted in a letter (of 6 April 1908) that he was making progress in getting Per's pension reinstated. Apparently Pehr's pension had been stricken from the list several years earlier.

He olived his 3 brothers who emmigrated.
