According to records Paulser was probably born between 1738 & 1740 in Germany. Paulser died sometime after 1810, when he was last recorded on census records. No death date has been found. His oldest child John Rouse was born about 1760 in New York according to his census records. The parents of Paulser are unknown & he is not the same person as Baulser Roush, the son of Johannes Roush & Susannah Sehler. Pauser is probably not their son because they were married in the US & Paulser was born in Germany & he is not listed as a son on their Descendants Memorial stone. Also Paulser & all of his children spelled their name ROUSE, not ROUSH.

Paulser served in the militia in 1774 under Capt. William Campbell.
[William was later to be promoted to Colonel and was a leader of the small army of mountain men from TN, VA, and NV who were successful in the Battle of Kings Mountain in the American Revolution.]

"Everyone seems to agree that this man was the first Rouse to wander down the Holston Valley."

Records show that Paulser was a defendant in a lawsuit in Fincastle Co. in 1775.
