What a wonderful example of a godly man. Paul considered God as his major partner. One year he gave 90% of his income to God’s work. He regularly gave 51% before taxes. He did the following: • served as president of the Broward County YMCA 1972-74 • was awarded the Christian Statesman of the Year Award by the TMCA in 1977 • served several terms as president of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Christian Businessmens Committee • Was ordained a ruling elder at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale in 1958 and headed church’s outreach ministry to the community. for many years. • Built and personally funded the first faith-based and community funded alcohol rehab program in Broward County, Fair Haven • Arranged for the purchase of land and constructed the first segments, A-G, of St. Andrews Estates (Open Door Estates) in Boca Raton and Covenant Village in Plantation. • Purchased land for Migrant Bible Mission in Broward County • Built the first YMCA for Northwest Fort Lauderdale • Served as Trustee at Boca Raton Community Church • Constructed the chapel/classroom building at Boca • Built the present sanctuary of Bethany Presb Church • Conducted Sunday religious services at the Broward County Jail for 25 years without missing a Sunday, and ditto for retirement homes • Member Headmaster’s Council Westminster Academy from time of its inception • Donated downpayment for three WA teachers to buy initial houses • In later years member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church
