Alt Prochnow, in the former Prussian province of West Prussia (part of the German Empire), located at 53° 18' North latitude and 16 14 East longitude, the village is now known as Prochnowo, Poland. The village had a population of 164 in 1910 and is 15-1/2 miles northwest of the village of Rose, the hometown of Gustav Schaefer. On his entry papers, Paul declared himself to be a "cousin" of Hugo Schaefer in New Braunfels, so the families obviously knew each other in some way. His mother is a Schaeler, which was Albertine Schaefer's maiden name, so that may be the connection. References
