FORMER N.O. INSURANCE EXEC PAUL McILHENNY DIES AT 77
Paul Westfeldt McIlhenny, a former president of McIlhenny Insurance Agency, died Saturday at Southern Baptist Hospital. He was 77.
Mr. McIlhenny was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from Tulane University in 1935 and was in the Navy during World War II.
He had been president of the New Orleans Insurance Exchange, chairman of the Insurance Advisory Committee of Tulane University, a director and treasurer of McIlhenny Co., a director of Avery Island Inc., a director and officer of the Louisiana Wildlife Federation, president of the Friends of the Cabildo and president of France-Amerique de la Louisane. Mr. McIlhenny also was an honorary life member of the Boston Club and the Recess Club and was a member of several Carnival organizations.
