Paul Battliner died at his home on East Sinclair Street at 12 o'clock noon Sunday of rheumatism of the heart.
Deceased was born in Germany, January 5, 1841. He moved to this country, coming directly to Wabash in 1870. He worked on the Wabash road as bridge carpenter for some time and was fnally made foreman of the bridge carpenters. He had been a sufferer from rheumatism for fourteen years and resigned his position on the road on that account several years ago, and bought the saloon on Wabash Street, which he continued to own and run up to the time of his death.
Mr. Battliner leaves a wife and several children to mourn his depature. He was a member of the Catholic Knights, in which he carried an insurnace, and was also a member of a building and loan association at Indianapolis in which there is an insurance clause.
Funeral services will take place at the Catholic church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. #Burial in Falls Cemetery.
